Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig, September 21 in 1983. She is an American actor best known for her character Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV series Lost. Her parents had divorced and they moved together with their mother into Los Angeles. In the midst of financial hardship, she got her first role as the title character in the online video series Rachel's Room in the year 2001. The TV film Murder in Greenwich where she played 15-years-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination of a Young Artist Award. In 2004 Grace was chosen to play Shannon Rutherford in the television series Lost on which she acted as a principal cast member for the first two seasons, and was awarded an Screen Actors Guild Award shared by the entire cast. Grace was keen to pursue film after starring opposite Tom Welling's character on The Fog, in 2005. She also appeared on screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and, opposite the Liam Neeson character Kim Mills as Kim Mills for Taken. She reprised her role in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the leading role in Alice on Malice in Wonderland a modern take on Lewis Carroll's novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace reprised her role as Shannon in Lost and the final episode. Grace appeared in Californication's 6th season which ran between 2013 and 2014. The actress portrays Faith as a groupie as well as a model for stars. Hank Moody is played by David Duchovny. Gyllenhaal is a part of the family, and is the older sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. When she was a teenager her career began as a small part-time actress for her father. She was also in Donnie Darko along with her twin brother. The next film she appeared in was Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind both in 2002 and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal's leading roles in Secretary, an erotico-romantic comedy, and Sherrybaby (a drama) received her nominations for Golden Globe Award. The year 2006 was the time she appeared in numerous commercially successful films, such as World Trade Center. However the role she played as Rachel Dawes that brought her wider attention in The Dark Knight (2008). In 2009, she was recognized for the award of Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her portrayal of a single mom in Crazy Heart. In the following years, she appeared in comedy and dramas Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and The Won't Back Down (2012). Other characters include as a secret agent of The Secret Service in White House Down 2013. She also appeared singing in Frank 2014, and the role of a teacher in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, in which she plays the title character. Gyllenhaal's debut as a filmmaker and writer took place in 2021, with The Lost Daughter, a psychological drama in which she won the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. In addition, she won an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
